Electro-Thermal Parameters of Graphene Nano-Platelets Films for De-Icing Applications

نویسندگان

چکیده

This paper provides a study of some relevant electro-thermal properties commercial films made by pressed graphene nano-platelets (GNPs), in view their use as heating elements innovative de-icing systems for aerospace applications. The equivalent electrical resistivity and thermal emissivity were studied, means models experimental characterization. Macroscopic strips with length on the order tens centimeters analyzed, either pure GNPs or composite mixtures small percentage polymeric binders. Analytical are derived experimentally validated. response these when acting element is studied discussed.

Study the effect of nano Al2O3 and nano graphene ceramic additives on the aircraft anti-icing/de-icing fluids

In the present study, the effect of nano Al2O3 and nano graphene ceramic additives in optimizing performance and improving thermophysical properties of aircraft anti-icing/de-icing fluids was investigated. Nanoparticles were characterized by TEM, SEM and XRD methods. The thermal conductivity, surface tension and dynamic viscosity of the hybrid nanofluids were experimentally assessed for tempera...

Impact of surface electric properties of carbon-based thin films on platelets activation for nano-medical and nano-sensing applications

Electric surface properties of biomaterials, playing key role to various biointerfacial interactions, were related to hemocompatibility and biosensing phenomena. In this study, the examination of surface electric properties of amorphous hydrogenated carbon thin films (a-C:H) was carried out by means of electrostatic force microscope (EFM) and observation of differences in spatial charge distrib...

Thermal properties of the hybrid graphene-metal nano-micro-composites: Applications in thermal interface materials

The authors report on synthesis and thermal properties of the electrically conductive thermal interface materials with the hybrid graphene-metal particle fillers. The thermal conductivity of resulting composites was increased by 500% in a temperature range from 300 K to 400 K at a small graphene loading fraction of 5-vol.-%. The unusually strong enhancement of thermal properties was attributed ...

3D Finite Element Simulation of Graphene Nano-Electro-Mechanical Switches

In this paper, we report the finite element method (FEM) simulation of double-clamped graphene nanoelectromechanical (NEM) switches. Pull-in and pull-out characteristics are analyzed for graphene NEM switches with different dimensions and these are consistent with the experimental results. This numerical model is used to study the scaling nature of the graphene NEM switches. We show the possibi...

Thermal properties of graphene-copper-graphene heterogeneous films.

We demonstrated experimentally that graphene-Cu-graphene heterogeneous films reveal strongly enhanced thermal conductivity as compared to the reference Cu and annealed Cu films. Chemical vapor deposition of a single atomic plane of graphene on both sides of 9 μm thick Cu films increases their thermal conductivity by up to 24% near room temperature. Interestingly, the observed improvement of the...
